Jordan - part of the Christian Holy Land; therefore are located numerous places, as connected with the events described in the books of the Old and New Covenant Christian Bible. Among the enormous enumeration of the places, which are of interest for the pilgrims, should be noted the mosaic map of Madaba (discovered in 1896) in which is located in the floor of the Greek Orthodox Basilica of Saint George.
The archaeological park which unites into itself a number of the remainders of Byzantine villas & churches is rich in the decorated mosaic panels. The abundance of mosaics in Madaba has given the name “City of Mosaics” to the Jordanian city. After the inspection of numerous monuments you will be able to rest in the dead or Red Sea. An 8 day tour package priced at about $1,100 per person is available online at OnTheGoTours (onthegotours.com/Totally-Jordan) website which includes a 7th day visit to Madaba.

As a result of these confident projections of growth in the Jordan property market, major development projects such as the Abdali project and King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz City are already well underway. As well as this, new large-scale projects in destinations such as Aqaba are also under consideration, and an increasingly pro-investment legislature has overseen the handover of numerous large plots of land to major developers for these major projects. As these large-scale projects come online, it is likely that the Jordan property market will experience a period of sustained, aggressive growth.
With property in Jordan currently more affordable than other countries in the region, there is an increasing amount of interest in the region from overseas investors. This external interest, coupled with an increasing amount of local interest, is likely to result in a sustained period of economic growth in the Jordanian property market, and favourable returns for overseas property investors.

The ancient city of Petra, (Rock in greek), is a beautiful archeological city in Jordan. It is world renowned for its natural rock shape architecture. In July 2007, Petra was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The city lies on the slope of Mount Hor, enclosed in a basin amid the towering rock mountains of Arabah. A beautiful stream runs down perennially throughout the mountains. Because of its natural shape and structure it used to act as a fortress in the ancient times as it controlled the commercial trading routes that connected Gaza, Bosra, Persian Gulf and Damascus. One can see magnificent rocks carved out to form monastery, and theater. One can see the shafts, the sandstones, cliffs and other extensive ruins.
The city is truly a red rose carved forever in time. The rock structures and carved monuments lend an air of mystique and elegance to the city which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1985. A traveler, who looks forward to an adventure of timelessness, will definitely fall in love with the rock city. Jordan, of all the places in the world is a rare place that blends with mystique, tradition and hospitality. Petra signifies that beauty is indeed timelessness. If one had to see elegance and beauty personified, the city of Petra would make for the perfect picture. Without a doubt, Petra is a precious jewel in the crown of Jordan’s popular places. For a wanderer, or a photographer, Petra embodies the ultimate charm. With a number of well equipped resorts and hotels around Petra, one can easily stay here. It is also very well connected by flights and local transportation. For a Petra tourist to enjoy the old world charm, Jordan offers the right blend of hospitality and a rich culture that adds up to a beautiful experience.

The other countries that border Jordan are Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the Syrian Arab Republic. The Red sea is to the south west of the country with The Dead Sea to the north west. The rolling hills in the north west of Amman are both cultivated and covered in forest. The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth and is famous for salty water that holds you in a sitting position without letting you sink. It connects to the River Jordan with Israel’s end of Lake Tiberias. To the east of Jordan you will find mainly desert and the only small coastal area can be found on the Red Sea coast. A high plateau extends from the Syrian Arab Republic to Ras en Naqab in the south.
Amman is referred to as the white city because of its stone houses. The people of Amman are very warm and helpful and are proud to show off their modern and historical sites. There are some lovely old markets selling spices and handicrafts. The City also offers art galleries, museums and restaurants. You can find the Citadel here which is one of the earliest fortifications in Jordan and has been subject to numerous excavations. Remains from the Neolithic, Hellenestic period and late Roman to Arab Islamic Ages have been found here. Some of the structures include the Temple of Hercules, the Omayyad Palace and the Byzantine church. The Roman Theatre is at the foot of the Citadel and is still used for cultural events today.
